How to find your SMTP Server Information

Note: This is not required for sending postings to email addresses, only for setting up the Custom Website (Email) format.

Specific instructions are included for the most recent version of several popular email programs. If you do not see your program listed here, open your email program and look for the window that displays your email account information, then look for the outgoing mail server. If you need more help, contact your Internet service provider or network administrator.

A typical SMTP address will look like this: smtp.ispname.com or mail.ispname.com.

If your SMTP server requires authentication it will be noted in the same window as your SMTP address, or in the advanced settings area. If you don't find it in those, look for an outgoing mail server properties area. If so, note the username entered; the password will usually appear like this ******** so if you do not know what it is, contact your administrator.
