PostEverywhere™ Help Pages

Custom Website (Email)

The Custom Website (Email) format requires an Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). This may sound scary, but don't worry, it is fairly easy. If you use an email program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Eudora are some examples), click here to learn how to locate this information.

The Custom Website (Email) window allows you to change the email address, subject, and attachment file name as may be required by the website.

Important! - For the Custom Website (Email) option to work you must first be able to send files electronically to a website via email. This means you must have a file format that will be accepted by the website and information on where to send it. Once you are sending files via email to a website, PostEverywhere can automate the process of generating the file and sending it from your computer to the website. If you have a file you are currently able to send via email to a website, contact us and we will incorporate the file format into your version of PostEverywhere.

Custom Website (Email) Instructions

  1. Setup and Validate your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). Enter your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) information in the Custom Website (Email) setup window and press the Validate SMTP button. If you are unable to get this working or require assistance, please contact PostEverywhere or click here for help.
  2. Contact us for information on where to send the file format you wish to incorporate within your PostEverywhere software.
  3. We will contact you once the format has been incorporated in your PostEverywhere software. Now, just add any information required by the website into the setup window and you are ready to begin posting to the website using PostEverywhere.
